Hi Rasna. Khublei. Thanks a lot for the visit and the comment. This blog post along with its comments section are a tribute to Shillong. And thanks for correcting me on Anjum Hasan's gender. Will do the necessary corrections.  Will send you a note when I write my next Shillong wala blog... regards... Dev

Lovely. I just read the piece & loved it. I'm from Shillong (in Bangalore now) & your piece brought back wonderful memories.....the music, the jeans.....Fortunately, I'm still connected to Shillong, I have family there. Just a little correction, Anjum Hasan is a woman - not a "he" ! She was my school mate. Looking forward to more pieces on Shillong.

Hi palahali. Thanks for the visit and the comment. Most of us look back on our teenage years with nostalgia. Is it not?

Wonderful piece of writing. Tells us all about Shillong, Bob Dyland and of course you. As somebody commented, it was like a mini woodstock there ! Nice again. Regards

Yes that's the house, Dev - the dog was called Champion :-) my grandpa's dog. I was a baby in diapers then :-) This is really cool... was generally googling the other day looking for coordinates of old friends from Shillong when I saw the mention of nongbet cottage in a blog - just had to read it! And don't be surprised if others get in touch. Have forwarded your blog to a couple of friends.

Hi Cancer666! Your comment on my Shillong blog gave me goosebumps. You lived in the green house not far from Nongbet Cottage. Was it the house with the huge black dog who slept in the middle of the narrow road?  You are related to the owners of the house we lived in. Awesome. You can tell your aunt that somebody from the Nair family who lived in Nongbet Cottage from Dec 1975 to June 1979 is in touch with you.  The response to this blog entry has been awesome.
One of my brothers visited Shillong in the late eighties. I have not yet been able to. But I will do so. When I am sixty four!  As luck would have it while I was reading your comment I received a phone call from a friend who also has a Shillong connection and I read out your comment. How did you discover this blog entry considering that it is now at least three months since I wrote it? A google search? How about a blog entry on Shillong from your side? Khublei till our next interaction.
