I see this crow pheasant (Greater Coucal) walking around in the grass searching for food. Thanks to the rains there is greenery everywhere. I shot a video which is just above 2 minutes. It has been uploaded onto Youtube and I have embedded it here. Do let me know how you found these pictures.
Taxonomical Name: Centropus Sinensis; Hindi name: mahoka; Marathi: Bhaaradwaaj
Size: 48 cms.
Its food includes caterpillars, large insects, snails, vertebrates like lizards and young mice and also the eggs of birds. I remember seeing one such bird catching a lizard and killing it by running it through a babool thorn. A horrible sight indeed.
The bird has a typical 'coop coop' sound. Both sexes look alike unlike many species in which the male is more colourful.
A mynah was also in the same area. And so was a squirrel but I could not click it.
A brief video of the same crow pheasant. (2:19)

Very interesting. The fusion between the city sounds and the sounds of nature in the video was indeed priceless. Where one can hear the crickets and birds , the sound of trucks or cars and was very evident too.
